The Foster Home Investigation Process Available Now on FosterParentCollege.com®

May 21, 2012

Eugene, OR — Each year many foster, adoptive, and kinship care providers are investigated for possible violation of regulations governing the health, safety, and supervision of foster children. These investigations are a necessary part of the safety net that protects children in care.

In this new course on FosterParentCollege.com, Michael F. Quinn, safety expert, social worker, and foster family agency supervisor, offers viewers a general overview of the investigation process. Among the topics discussed are why foster home investigations are necessary and what happens during and after an investigation. The course also covers how parents can limit the impact of an investigation on their household, and helps them recognize how the family may benefit from an investigation.

FosterParentCollege.com provides interactive online training for foster, adoptive, and kinship parents. There are three dozen courses available at this time. Titles include Substance-Exposed Infants, Child Abuse and Neglect, Grief and Loss in the Care System, Culturally Competent Parenting, Caring for Children Who Have Been Sexually Abused, and Child Safety and Supervision.
