The Role of Mandated Child Abuse Reporters Launches on FosterParentCollege.com®

May 18, 2012

Eugene, OR — While shopping, you notice a frustrated adult striking a child. What is your responsibility as a mandatory reporter? How do you go about reporting an emotionally charged situation that calls for clear thinking and responsible reporting? Although the specifics of child abuse reporting laws vary from state to state, questions like these are explored in this course.

The new class on FosterParentCollege.com reaches beyond foster care with exercises built around real-life events to discuss the challenges and responsibilities of mandated child abuse reporting. The course provides strategies for information collection and confidential reporting that will help ensure the investigation process is not compromised. The course is taught by Michael F. Quinn, safety expert, social worker, and foster care agency supervisor.

FosterParentCollege.com provides interactive online training for foster, adoptive, and kinship parents. There are over 30 courses available at this time. Titles include Substance-Exposed Infants, Child Abuse and Neglect, Grief and Loss in the Care System, Culturally Competent Parenting, and Child Safety and Supervision.
