Consider becoming a Foster Parent College (FPC) Certified Consultant.

Certified Consultants are independent professionals who provide valuable onsite service to FPC agency users. Agency support can include:

• Setting up the FPC online management system for convenient tracking of parent training
• Training agency staff and parents to use Foster Parent College
• Overseeing and managing all aspects of an agency’s FPC account

Successful applicants have experience in the social services field, are comfortable with computers and the internet, and are willing to commit their time and resources to our comprehensive online training program.

Applicants who are accepted into the Certified Consultant Program (CCP) are required to complete a 4 week online training program which includes:

• Participation in 4 Webinar trainings (1 hour/week)
• Viewing 3 FPC online courses (3 - 4 hours)
• Weekly online quizzes and self-directed study exercises (4 - 5 hours)
• Passing the final Certifying Exam (1 - 2 hours)

FPC Certified Consultants work independently of Northwest Media, Inc., providing FPC consulting services directly to, and being paid by, agencies overseeing foster parents.

The cost for the CCP training for independent consultants is $300 through May 31, 2011; a special agency staff training rate is offered at $200. Rates rise to $500 and $300, respectively, on June 1, 2011. Annual recertification is $50.
